Arsonists Escape
Yesterday, in what was believed to be a violent protest lead by a small group of Butterfly Objectors, one of our secure caches was torched. Many cyphers and two artifacts are currently unaccounted for. No one was seriously injured in the attack, but the arsonists have eluded our security. It seems that the perpetrators may have had access to classified information, leading us to believe that at least one of them was or currently is an Estate Operative. If any operatives have seen anything or heard anything regarding the arson, please report it to your superior officer for the safety of those around you. Earlier this week, an outbreak of children singing constantly and suffering mild hallucinations occurred in the neighborhood of one Erica Laughton. The cause of the outbreak is believed to be a cypher that a child found in Ms. Laughton’s trash. Ms. Laughton is a known recursion miner who tends to visit harmless recursions. We currently believe the incident to be accidental on her part; the Estate has dealt with the issue and we do not expect similar events in the future. However, we believe it is vital to take precautions in order to prevent similar episodes. In light of recent events, The Estate would like to remind our operatives that the proper place to dispose of unwanted cyphers is not your trashcan, your garbage disposal, or anywhere else around your home. Due to the unpredictability of some cyphers, it can be dangerous for them to mix with the general population. Even seemingly harmless cyphers can have a negative impact on someone who is not used to their effects. If you are in possession of a cypher that you no longer wish to own, please turn it in to proper Estate Personnel. Likewise, report any cypher misuse you may notice. Recently, Estate Operative Muriel Wright was hospitalized due to car accident where a driverless car “ran her down”. Wright says the car turned off the road and followed her down an ally before the driver was able to “wrestle control back” from the vehicle. The car in question was installed with a D.I. Dashtop Box built by Lancer Motors. Lancer Motors, after appearing out of nowhere, miraculously came out with a working driverless car before their competitors, who include Google, GM, and Toyota. Thousands of D.I. Dashtop boxes units (D.I. Standing for Driving Intelligence) have been sold, and as advertised the cars drive themselves with simple voice commands from the passengers. However, Wright’s instance is not the only one of its kind. Many quickened drivers have been fatally injured or hospitalized due to accidents involving vehicles installed with the D.I. Dashtop Boxes. A possible link between D.I. Dashtop Boxes and the strange is currently being investigated. Operatives shadowing Tom Mallard on Earth have recently reported him missing. Any information concerning his recent whereabouts should be reported to your superior officer or other personnel immediately. We would like operatives currently located in Hazurrium and Crow Hollow to be especially vigilant, as he has been observed there in the past. Operatives who see Tom Mallard are asked to shadow him and report any suspicious activity, such as the use of inapposite gates, potentially dangerous purchases, or other actions that could be a potential threat to earth. If seen, please proceed with caution. Mallard may be wielding many dangerous cyphers.
